I wish A-Net open up the nerfing spots and allow users to get more decent items?

Bah.. I would just be happy enough to get the same items for saving the entire world from destruction as people get from winning a match in the hall of heroes :-) or saving Balthazar from the Shadow Army. or saving Grenth from the UW invaders. or defeating the Iron Golem :-) Luckily we can save Tombs for fun and profit now...

In statistics, you can estimate the mean(average) profit p with:
Σ(p*x)
That is, the sum of all the probablities times the profit. So if you win nothing, you lose 5 euros. If you win, you gain 115 euros (remember, you're paying 5 to play). If it were a realistic game, so that it wasn't "fair", the chance of losing would be much higher than winning. The mean therefore is actually negative. If you play a large number of times, the losses will cancel out and actually outweigh the gains.
In Guild Wars, your cost is the time you spend farming or playing. You MIGHT make 500k in one hour, but on average, it will require a LOT of playing time for that magical hour to pop up.
Especially if that seed nonsense is true. That doesn't strike me as very fair, and it seems reminiscent of other MMOs (ok, I know it's a CORPG, beat me to death with a halibut why don't you?) (Dungeons and Dragons Online for example) or RPGs where characters are "rolled", except you can't see the stats. I guess you could test it, but since the game is so random, it's very hard to isolate the drop rate. I guess you could survey people with "good" luck, have them farm for X hours and count their drops, or have them farm until they get a specified drop, then record X hours. You could do some statistical analysis comparing the "good luck" players to the "bad luck" players, but it might yield nothing (One thing it might yield is an interesting mean, where you might be able to baseline the amount of time necessary to find item X or an item of type X)

If your goal in GW is to farm mad gold then you should be making at least 40K+ an hour to be maximizing utility of your time.

Well I can make about 10-15k in 15 minutes running (full run)
I absolutly despise farming. Much too boring.
Overall the most I've ever had at once is 350k which I spent it all on ectos and shards

I was always skint. Then I started farming. Now I'm comfortable. Problem is what do you spend the money on ? Until we get an auction system I'm not even considering looking at weapons to buy, I'm not a fan of most of the 15k armours, I won't go near anything that has a pvp factor influencing a pve aspect, it's a quandary I tell you.

Obviously it depends on each person's playing style & amount of playing time. I myself have had over 100k several times, however I have always ended up spending it. I am not what you would call a farmer, nor am I runner or a trader but I did play a lot...& I mean a lot. Everyday, all day... up until last week that is.

I hate farming its mind numbingly boring! But unfortunately its just like real life coz i hate working too, But thats what you have to do to make money..and i like money
I can only farm for so long with my warrior until i start to get hacked off, I crave adventure and excitement you see!
Been doing new tombs runs with my ranger and they are good fun but the new greens that drop are like some form of herpes or something coz you just can't get rid of em!
So i guess its back to bashing griffons til i get enough for my 15k druids..ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz

If you:
1. Just get collector's armors up until Droknar's;
2. Just buy the minor set of runes;
3. Don't buy any skills; and
4. Complete all quests SOLO (without henchmen) up to the desert.
You should easily have 100K in your bank, without having to farm at all.
Tips to doing that:
1. Never use an expert salvage kit other than to get runes off of armor (or on the odd chance you get an awesome mod on a weapon). 16g a shot for the possibility of getting a rare material is not worth it, when the basic materials you will get from normal salvaging will likely be a similar value.
2. Use the normal salvage kit for any item that is "highly salvageable" and for armor you know will produce either iron or tanned hide squares. Sell everything else to the merchant.
3. When you accumulate either 250 wood, iron or tanned hides by salvaging in this wy, sell them in Droknar's (if you've gotten that far) or in Ascalon City for 10g each.

mmm a Gryph run for me nets about 2K and takes 10 mins, so to get 100k you'd need 500 mins of gryph running. Thats 8 hours 20 mins of solid farmin.
And they say this game isn't a grind

i made a killing off of wintersday (first day selling ccshards for 2k each :P stupid people make me giggle, and NOW selling ccs for 600g each, all in all i made about 300k off of wintersday) and the first few days of the tombs update, sold a victos axe for 100k +25 ectos, which are still in my storage deciding if i should replace the bloodstained boots with FoW bloodstained boots, i like the male FoW boots and glvoes so i might replace both, but the wierd reverse loin cloth leggings and michael jackson vest with spikes are really nasty
